I’m a Data Science Technical Lead focused on Research and Innovation with more than 11 years of experience on Data Science projects. My background is Applied Mathematics and Statistics and I specialize on the implementation of machine learning models to solve analytical problems. I’m originally from Venezuela where I worked in the Academic sector for a few years teaching statistics and probability courses to young students but also to experience industry managers, which allowed me to develop my mentoring and coaching skills teaching highly technical subjects to students and helping industry managers to understand the value and the benefit the companies can get from the implementation of machine learning models.

I moved to Ireland in 2015 working on the Insurance sector leading the implementation of machine learning models for customer profiling, targeted marketing campaigns and maximising their renewal rates. In 2018 I moved to the Fintech sector in a new Research and Development facility where I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate on building a Data Science team from scratch and working closely with the Director of Data Science to understand the company’s priorities and designing projects to address those needs. As a Data Science manager, I have been involved in the recruiting, hiring mentoring, coaching, and upskilling of the team members to ensure our Data Science team have the correct skill sets and in the right balance to work efficiently, maximising the value for the company and helping each team member to achieve their potential and growth in their careers.

Síle is currently a Senior Decisioning Architect in Bank of Ireland, with over 20 years broad CRM experience combining both business and technical skills. She has a background in Mathematics and more recently, a First Class Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence. She is responsible for the development of omni-channel customer engagement strategies in Pega, Bank of Ireland's Customer Engagement Engine - implementing Next Best Actions, the logic to drive customer engagement and the use of Adaptive/Predictive Modelling to deliver considerable positive outcomes for the Bank's customers and the Group.
