Realising the value in data while preserving customer trust and fundamental rights to privacy is a balancing act. People and process alone are not enough to effectively enforce the levels of protection required when large volumes of data are involved. Privacy enhancing technologies (PETs) address this issue, leaving business stakeholders free to focus on their business insights.
In this talk, a panel from Mastercard will describe some of the main PETs attendees will have heard about, highlighting their strengths, weaknesses and area of most benefit. They will demo some of the PETs capabilities that have been developed in Mastercard to enable responsible data use and analysis.
Learning Outcomes:
- An understanding of what privacy enhancing technologies are,
- what types exist and how they operate
- how to apply them to unlock the value in data while respecting the right to privacy of individuals.
Audience:
- Business stakeholders, privacy lawyers and privacy professionals, data scientists, analysts and data engineers.
